Team 225 played well and enjoyed sharing the field with some of the best teams in FRC. While TechFire did not advance to the elimination rounds, much was learned from playing at one of the most competitive FRC events ever. Without a doubt, attending the IRI was an invaluable experience which will serve to inspire and strengthen the TechFire program in seasons to come.
Congratulations to the Winners and Finalists at the 2014 IRI
Winning Alliance – 2056, 469, 1625 and 4039
Finalist Alliance – 254, 1114, 330 and 2013
Besides watching incredible robots, much fun was had after the matches. Kudos to TechFire members, Tessa and Michaela Bryan, for an amazing performance at the IRI talent show. These two lit up the stage with some impressive gymnastics moves--225's got talent!
In addition to being a top-notch event for FIRST Robotics Competition teams, IRI raises funds for local charities. Since 2004, IRI has raised money for various charities, provided many scholarships to students, and given away an impressive number of supply-filled backpacks for Indianapolis-area kids. The charities selected for the 2014 IRI were Riley Children's Hospital and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Howard County. Thank you to everyone who donated backpacks, supplies, and items for the silent auction!
TechFire will take a well-deserved break before the next off-season event coming up in September. Thank you to everyone who made IRI a big success and to the Martin family for hosting a fun-filled, post-competition party for the team!
