TechFire was honored to present information about our team and FIRST to one of our sponsors, Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT). Engineers and associates spent their lunch hour at the corporate headquarters in Sparks, MD where they met some of our students and had a chance to see Tyrannosaucer Rex in action. At the conclusion of our season overview, a team photo and momento from our trip to the 2013 FIRST World Championships was presented along with our sincere gratitude for the continued support of JMT. TechFire would like to give a special thanks to Randall Bryan, JMT engineer and TechFire team parent/mentor, for helping to arrange our visit and encouraging the on-going partnership between Team 225 and JMT. We are very fortunate to have such amazing sponsors--thank you JMT!

TechFire was invited to the Rotary Club of York family picnic held at the York County 4-H Center and gave a demo and presentation about the team and FIRST robotics. In addition to a delicious dinner, we enjoyed meeting several members of the Rotary Club and their families. It was great to see people of all ages having fun learning about what we do and becoming part of our mission to inspire the next generation of innovators. Great job 225 and thank you York County 4-H for hosting this event! TechFire 225 mentors Vicki Rispoli and Amy Harmon Krtanjek presented an FLL Team Start-up Information session at Penn State York campus, including demo of the new EV3 robot (thank you Donnie Krtanjek)! 3 new FLL teams in York already registered this year and 2-3 more in the works. Hey FIRST - we're helping "Make it Loud" in York, PA!! See a copy of the presentation here: Click on graphic below to view complete info packet. |
