We will be competing in the Newton Division at the World Championships! Congratulations to TechFire for an outstanding performance at the Mid-Atlantic Robotics (MAR) Region Championships this past weekend! We had some unlucky breaks during the preliminary rounds but were picked by our good friends, Team 4460 MASH, along with Team 4285 Camo Bots during the alliance selections. After dominating two quarter-finals matches, we advanced to the semi-finals but weren't quite able to get past a tough alliance which included teams 11, 222 and 1403. In addition to an outstanding field performance, TechFire was awarded the Creativity Award sponsored by Xerox. This award celebrates creative design, in process, execution, or via a creative or unique strategy of play. It is focused on a feature or features of the machine or development process. Click here to view detailed results of the MAR Championship. The most exciting moment for our team came at the very end of the competition when the points were tallied and the final rankings were announced. Based on our standing in the MAR, Team 225 TechFire has won a berth to the 2013 FIRST World Championships in St. Louis, MO. CONGRATS to Team 225 for this amazing accomplishment and best of luck in St. Louis! Great job TechFire!! Thank you Jere Gish, WGAL-8, for helping us get the word out about our team. Best of luck this weekend 225! |
